Understanding Our Privacy Practices

Data Minimization: Collecting Only What's Necessary

Media-Compute follows the principle of data minimization—we collect only the information strictly necessary to provide our services. When you upload an image for processing, we receive the file data required for processing. We don't require account creation for basic usage, meaning we don't collect names, emails, or other personal information unless you explicitly provide it by contacting us.

This approach isn't just about compliance—it's about building trust. Many online services collect far more data than they need, creating databases that become attractive targets for hackers and subject to government requests. By minimizing what we collect, we minimize what could potentially be compromised.

Ephemeral Processing: Files That Disappear

When you upload a file to Media-Compute, it exists on our servers only for the duration of processing. The file is written to temporary storage, processed by our AI models, and the result is made available for download. Once you download the processed file—or after a short timeout period—both the original and processed files are permanently deleted using secure erasure methods.

This ephemeral architecture means there's no database of user images that could be breached, subpoenaed, or misused. Even our own engineering team cannot access user content during the brief processing window. This design eliminates entire categories of privacy risk that affect services that store user content long-term.

No AI Training: Your Content Stays Yours

Many AI services use uploaded content to train and improve their machine learning models. This creates a situation where your personal photos or business documents contribute to systems you have no control over. Media-Compute explicitly does not do this.

Our AI models are trained on publicly available datasets and licensed content before deployment. User uploads are never used for training, fine-tuning, or improving our models. This commitment is absolute—we believe your content should never be used to train systems without your explicit, informed consent.

GDPR and CCPA Compliance

Media-Compute is designed with international privacy regulations in mind. For users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which grants you rights including access to your data, rectification of inaccurate data, and the "right to be forgotten"—erasure of all data we hold about you.

For California residents, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), which provides similar rights including knowing what personal information is collected, requesting deletion, and opting out of the sale of personal information. Note that we do not sell personal information under any circumstances.

🇪🇺 GDPR Rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing of your personal data.

🇺🇸 CCPA Rights

Know what data is collected, request deletion, opt-out of sale, and non-discrimination for exercising rights.

Security Measures

All data transmitted to and from Media-Compute is encrypted using TLS 1.3, the latest transport layer security protocol. This encryption prevents anyone from intercepting or reading your files during transmission. Our servers use HTTPS exclusively—unencrypted HTTP connections are automatically redirected.

Our infrastructure is protected by Cloudflare's security services, including DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall (WAF). Regular security audits and updates ensure our systems remain protected against emerging threats. We follow industry best practices for secure software development and deployment.

Payment Security

Payment processing is handled entirely by our partners, Razorpay and Stripe—both PCI DSS Level 1 certified. We never receive, process, or store your credit card numbers, CVV codes, or other sensitive payment details. These never touch our servers at all.

When you make a payment, you interact directly with a secure iframe provided by our payment processor. The transaction is completed on their infrastructure, and we receive only a confirmation of successful payment along with a transaction reference for record-keeping. This architecture ensures your financial information remains protected by industry-leading security.

Analytics and Advertising

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. This helps us identify problems, improve user experience, and make informed decisions about development priorities. Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized—we see trends like "X% of users visited the compression page" rather than individual user journeys.

Google AdSense displays advertisements on our site to help support free service tiers. Google uses cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings, or use browser extensions that block tracking. We respect "Do Not Track" browser signals where technically feasible.

We believe privacy is a fundamental right, not a luxury. Our policies and practices reflect this belief. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, or wish to exercise your privacy rights, please don't hesitate to contact us.
